A Fun Comic Strip Walk in Buenos Aires, Argentina

An open-air route where one can stroll along some of Argentina's most beloved comic characters while enjoying the sights, architecture, and history. The Comic Strip Walk (Paseo de la Historieta), is a nostalgic route for many Argentinians and a fun educational walk for tourists. The Comic Strip Walk goes through beautiful neighborhoods and buildings that reflect the city's history, and celebrates some of Argentina's most famous comic characters. Along the route, you will find many sculptures, and murals where you can take pictures and learn a bit more about each character.

The route begins in the neighborhood of San Telmo, specifically at the corner of Defensa and Chile street. You will find the starting point with the the statue of Mafalda sitting on a bench with her friends. [See below]. Mafalda is one of Argentina's most famous characters, and is created by renown Argentinian artist Quino.

From Mafalda, one will walk through several historic neighborhoods, like Monserrat and Puerto Madero, ending at the Museum of Imagination and Play.

There are several blogs and social media reels where visitors and locals have done this walk and highly recommend it. It's hard to beat a combination of exercise, history, nostalgia, and cute pictures through beautiful neighborhoods, especially if the weather is just right to you.
